RAYS will start the ROOKIE Grand Prix Series on December 13th, with the first of three meets being held at CAC (MAP) This series is specifically designed for our Rookie swimmers getting a great meet experience in a short amount of time.

The RAYS Erin Reisinger was named to the USA Swimming 2008-09 Junior Team this week at the USA Swim Convention. Erin will represent the Red, White & Blue at an International competition in 2009. Erin qualified at the USA Junior National Championships in August, where she finished 5th in the 100Bk. Erin follows in her teammates footsteps Kristine Polley, who made the USA Junior Team in 2006-07. (Erin on the left Kristine on right)

The RAYS had one of the best Senior State Championships in recent history. Overall we placed 3rd behind Swim Atlanta & Dynamo; however our girls finished 2nd behind Swim Atlanta which was a total team effort. Individually we had three State Champions (Erin Reisinger, Kristine Polley & Chris Thompson); Erin also broke a 1988 GA Record in the 100m Bk. The RAYS were honored for the third year in a row by USA Swimming as a Silver Level Club in their 2008 Club Excellence program. USA Swimming looks at over 7000 clubs across the country and assigns levels to the top clubs that provide a great service and are able to produce great swimmers. There were only 7 Clubs that reached the Gold level This award complement the RAYS finishing 28th in the country (one of only three GA teams in the top 30) in the USA Swimming and Toyota...

The RAYS Bryan Lundquist finished tied for 7th in the 50m Fr final. Bryan who has represented the RAYS since he was 8 years old, had a personal best time of 22.13 and was only 0.48 sec away from making the team.Way To Go Bryan! Read the Trials Blog

Bryan Lundquist representing the USA at the World Championships in England was a member of the winning 400 Fr relay which set a new World Record. Bryan also placed 8th in the 50 Fr, 7th in the 100 Fr and was a member of the 2nd place 400 MR. Bryan is pictured 3rd from the left.

· Junior Nationals – we had a very good showing at the Junior Nationals Meet. We had 11 athletes make the cuts and 10 competed. This is our highest number ever. We also qualified two relays in all women’s relay events.
