Ian is a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a B.S. degree. His professional coaching career spans over a 37-year period (32nd year with the Stingrays) plus over 20 years of competitive swimming experience. 

His accomplishments as a coach include a 3 times USA Swimming National Coach selection, two-time Junior National Team Coach, two-time Georgia Senior Coach of the Year, coach of several Age Group Stroke Technique National Champions and has been selected by USA Swimming to coach at numerous United States Swimming sponsored clinics. He has coached 2 Olympians, an American & World Record holder. Numerous of his athletes have competed on an International and College level, including NCAA record holders and finalists.

Ian took the reins of Stingrays Swimming in 1992 and with the organization has developed the Stingrays coaching philosophy of "Training for Life." Ian has also been active member for GA Swimming being the past Senior Chairman, a member of the GA Swimming committees since 1995. He is also a lifelong member of ASCA, a past Chairman of the Southern Sectional and USA Swimming Senior Time Standards Committee. Ian is married to Cynthia and has a daughter Krista.

Pike joined the Stingrays coaching staff in 1994. He swam for Coach Ian from 1986-1988 in Campbellsville Kentucky. He then went on to Miami University (Ohio) where he set 4 team records, was a 2x MAC conference champion and USA National qualifier. Pike majored in Zoology earning his Bachelor of Science degree in 1992. In 1994, after some international travel and coaching abroad, he settled in Marietta and began coaching/ swimming with Stingrays.
Since then, Coach Pike has coached the Georgia Zone team 3x, has had numerous State Champions and State record holders, 1 National Record holder, numerous Junior and Senior national Swimmers and many swimmers who participated at all levels of collegiate swimming. In 2004, Coach Pike was named the Georgia Age Group Coach of the Year and has been the Lead Coach at MVAC since then.
 
As an active member of the Age Group Committee, Coach Pike has been pushing for change in the developmental areas of swimming and the role of appropriate competition in sport development.
 
He lives in Cartersville with his wife Dawn and two boys, Kipling and Isaac.

Mark has been a part of the Stingrays staff since June 2018. Since joining RAYS Mark has worked with all levels of the team from LAPS to National but has been focused primarily on the RAYS Age Group Program. In his time with RAYS Mark has helped develop Olympic Trial qualifiers and numerous Senior and Age Group State Champions. Mark believes in coaching through the lens of Long Term Development, Building Strong Relationships, Keeping it Fun and Training For Life.

 

Mark is a member of the Georgia Swimming Age Group Committee and works to promote and develop sustainable pathways of growth and opportunity for young athletes in the State. 

 

As a swimmer, Mark was a member of the Irish National Team and swam Collegiately at Georgia Tech, where he was an Academic All-American. 

 

Mark lives in Marietta but misses his Family in Ireland - especially his Mum, Lynne and his Sister, Kate.

Allison Touart Lead AG Coach MVAC 770-325-7292 ext 3

Allison joined the Stingrays Swimming Staff in Spring of 2022 and was also a part of the Stingrays family for 12 years. She swam 3 years of college before completing her degree of Psychology at Kennesaw State University. Whilst completing her degree at Kennesaw State, Allison was the Head Coach for the Northwest YMCA Wahoos for 2 seasons. 

     Allison is a 2x team Conference Carolina’s Champion, as well as multiple individual and relay conference champion. She has immense knowledge of stroke, technique, and dryland experience to give to swimmers as well as her passion for improvement and developing great swimmers and even better people. 

She lives in Marietta with her husband Evan and her dog Nova.
